In my ongoing survey of fantasy literature, I find that on quite a regular basis the setting for the stories is usually inspired by countries in EuropeBritain, to be exact. This reflects the continual wave of British imperialism, infecting the minds of authors and the landscapes they create. In all the places of the world and in all the limitless possibilities within the realm of fantasy, is Britain really the only inspiring setting? Eurocentrism, how I love you.

…Not.
